Do you ever notice that some people never ever get sick and you get sick at least once or twice each flu season? What is their secret? Is it that they have far superior genetics? Or do they have another secret?
Well let me tell you that while genetics do have a small part to play, lifestyle factors have a far greater impact on your health. So what do healthy people do differently, and what do they have in common with each other? Well let’s get straight into it.
They Drink Water Like It’s About To Run Out
Healthy people have this thing in common. They pretty much all drink a lot of water. So how much is a lot of water? A glass or 2 a day? No. They say that you should drink about your body weight in ounces divided by 2. So if you weight 200 pounds, you should drink about 100 ounces a day of water. But if you work outside or have a strenuous job, this should be increased. So stop drinking soda and juice, and swap it out with water!
They Avoid Fast Food
We all know that fast food is convenient. It is really convenient and can often help save a lot of time and money. But this comes at a big cost. Your health. Virtually all fast food is not good for your health. And it should be avoided at all cost except in emergencies (like in a situation where there is nothing else open). Healthy people almost always avoid fast food and may only have it 3-4 times a year.
They Really Enjoy Exercise
Many people do not like exercising. Exercising is like a chore. Do it only when you have too. But healthy people actually like exercising. But they were not born this way, they worked at it until they enjoyed it. Or they play a sport or a hobby that they really love. Some examples, biking, skiing, hiking, tennis, etc. It is important that everyone does at least 30 minutes a day of exercise. This doesn’t even have to be high intensive. It can be as simple as a 30 minute walk during your work lunch break.
They Love Vegetables
We often hear the phrase “I don’t like vegetables”. This is ridiculous. We all need at least 3 servings of vegetables a day to get most of the nutrients we need. And the good news is that vegetables can be cooked in so many different ways. You can have them roasted, raw, steamed, in a salad, or in a pie just to name a few. Healthy people love vegetables and eat them with at least 2 meals a day.
They Avoid Sodas
We mentioned earlier that healthy people drink lots of water. In doing so they reduce the cravings for soda. In fact, healthy people almost never drink sodas. After all, soda does nothing but harm for our bodies. And if you think that diet sodas are any healthier, you are wrong. Diet sodas are just as bad for us and also should be avoided. After cutting out sodas for your diet for some time, they will likely make you feel sick each time you drink one.
